Location, Availability & Fees

Location: I am based in Newcastle, North East of England. All sessions are held via video link (teams send in advance of session). I no longer offer appointments face to face. I find online sessions work really well in most circumstances.
Availability: I offer flexible evening or weekend appointments. Appointment times vary, the latest slot I can offer is 7-8pm on a weekday and 5pm on a Saturday. I do not usually offer appointment on Sundays.
Standard Fees: I offer standard fees which start at £40 for individual therapy and £80 for family sessions. When you contact me we will agree fees ahead of booking a session. I am happy to offer a free consultations phone call to discuss my approach and your unique needs. I typically work with people, collaborating with you and/or your family as relevant to co-create goals and ways of working which consider problems in context of a persons life and exploring patterns, beliefs and resources.
Private health insurance: I do not work with private health insurance companies at this time.
About sessions:
My aim as a therapist is to make myself redundant as soon as possible. I am mindful that most families want to be able to cope with short term rather than longer term support. With this in mind, please also consider the following:

60 minutes per session.

Sessions take place fortnightly or monthly. This enables time for reflection and practice using tools or resources between sessions.

An email between sessions is included in the fee as people often have quick queries between sessions.

Short term work is often more cost effective than longer term work, provided one experiments with the tools or exercises between sessions.

Sometimes a single session on its own is helpful. The exact number of sessions depends of the severity of the problem. A rough guide is: mild issues: 1-3 sessions; moderate issues: 3-6 sessions; more severe and entrenched issues: 6-12 sessions. The average number is usually between 4 - 6 sessions. I offer a maximum of 16 sessions.

'Booster' sessions may also be helpful. A short period of work, say 4 sessions, with a booster session after a few weeks or months is often of help.
Payment Methods: Bank transfer. Payments must be made before each session takes place.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment please give as much notice as possible.
In the unforeseen event that the therapist cancels, you will be reimbursed for the session missed.
